The TBQM Turbine Gas Flow Meter is designed for accurate gas volume measurement, suitable for both fiscal and in-plant applications. This meter is a velocity type meter, measuring the gas flow rate based on the rotation speed of its internal turbine wheel.

Applications

The TBQM meter can be used to measure combustible gases of the first, second, and third gas families (such as natural gas, town gas, propane, butane, and others), purified and dried biogas, as well as other inert and non-aggressive gases. It is suitable for installation in hazardous area Category 2 (Zone 1).

Operating Principle

When gas flows, it is accelerated and conditioned by the meter's upstream section, causing the turbine wheel to rotate. The rotating rate of the turbine is proportional to the gas flow rate within a particular flow range. The turbine's rotations are transferred to the index reading unit via a decelerating transition mechanism and a magnetic coupling connector, thus achieving counting and output of the flow pulse signal (LF or HF).
